I am a Consultant Rheumatologist at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. My special interests are Osteoporosis, axial spondyloarthritis and medical education.

I completed my rheumatology training at North Thames London deanery, achieving a distinction in my Rheumatology MSc from King's College London and completing the Rheumatology MRCP(UK) from the Royal College of Physicians. I completed the PgCert in Medical Education from UCL and the Royal College of Physicians. I received FRCP from the Royal College of Physicians in 2016.

I am an expert adviser for the National Committee for Clinical Guidelines; the Physician Associate Lead at Basildon and Thurrock Hospital; Honorary Senior Lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University; Secretary for Essex Rheumatology Association; and have recently been appointed the new co-TPD for Rheumatology trainees with Health Education England.

I have thoroughly enjoyed working within academia, having written Rheumatology SCE questions for StudyPRN. I have presented in national and international conferences and published in scientific journals. I’m the co-editor for Best of Five MCQs for the Rheumatology SCE. I was involved in the NICE Rheumatoid arthritis guidelines and Quality standards.

I am a Rheumatology and General Internal Medicine Speciality ST7 Registrar. I graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2013 and also have a BSc with Honours in Clinical Sciences. I obtained my MRCP(UK) in 2016 and my MRCP Rheumatology SCE in 2019.

I am currently working at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. I have previously gained rheumatology experience at King's College Hospital NHS Trust, Barts Health NHS Trust, North Middlesex University NHS Trust and Whittington Health NHS Trust. I am passionate about teaching and helping medical students and doctors become better professionals.

After completing my MBBCh from Cardiff University Medical School, I achieved my Royal College of Physicians MRCP followed by the Royal College of Physicians Rheumatology Speciality Certificate MRCP(Rheum) in June 2015. I’m passionate about teaching and research, which led me to take the Rheumatology Lecturer post at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff where I completed my Doctor of Medicine (MD) and registrar training.

My current posts at Brighton and Sussex Medical School as a senior lecturer and honorary consultant with Brighton and Sussex University Hospital allow me to continue to teach and pursue my research interests of early inflammatory arthritis and pain syndromes.

I am a Consultant Rheumatologist at Prince Charles Hospital, Merthyr Tydfil. I have an interest in rheumatoid arthritis, ultrasound, and medical education. Currently, I am Chair of both the Wales Rheumatology Specialty Training Committee and the Wales Rheumatology Ultrasound Group.

I organise Rheumatology attachments at Prince Charles Hospital for Cardiff University medical undergraduates, as well as being an Educational Supervisor for Internal Medicine Trainees and teaching regularly on the Cardiff PACES Course.

I am a Consultant Rheumatologist with an interest in inflammatory arthritis, ultrasound and education. I graduated in 2009 with Honours from the University of Leeds. I completed my Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Medicine in 2013, and have been a sports doctor at both amateur and elite sporting events.

I completed my PhD in 2018, having secured prestigious funding from the National Institute of Health Research. I have a EULAR Advanced certificate in ultrasound. I am passionate about education, and training the next generation of doctors!

I have been a Consultant Rheumatologist for 15 years. I qualified from the Welsh National School of Medicine in 1990. I undertook my training in rheumatology in London, obtaining a PhD in systemic lupus erythematosus at the Imperial College (Hammersmith campus) in 1997. I was accredited with a CCST in rheumatology and general internal medicine in 2002.

I was previously a Consultant Rheumatologist at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, and Barnet and Edgware Hospitals before returning to Wales to take up a consultancy at the University Hospital of Wales and University Hospital Llandough in 2006. I moved my consultant post to Morriston Hospital, Swansea in January 2017.

I treat all aspects of rheumatology, but I have a particular interest and experience in the diagnosis and management of SLE, connective tissue disease and vasculitis.

I am a Senior Consultant Physician, Academic and Medical Educator with expertise in Acute Medicine, Rheumatology, and Medical Education. I hold specialist certifications in Acute Medicine and Rheumatology (UK), the EULAR European Certification in Rheumatology (EU), and a Diploma in Echocardiography (India).

As an Associate Fellow of the Advance Higher Education Academy (UK), I am actively involved in postgraduate medical education. I serve as a Recognised Tutor at the University of South Wales, supporting the Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) and MSc programmes in both Acute Medicine and Rheumatology. Additionally, I am a Recognised Tutor at the University of Buckingham, contributing to the Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) and MSc programmes in Stroke Medicine.

I also worked as a subeditor and content contributor for StudyPRN.com, where I have developed content for the Specialist Certificate Exam (SCE) revision resources in Acute Medicine and Rheumatology and the European Board Examination in Emergency Medicine (EBEEM). I have also been a member of the Question Writing Group (QWG) for MRCP (UK) Exams at the Royal College of Physicians, UK.

After finishing my Postgraduate Degree in General Medicine from the Government Medical College Thrissur, I went on to complete my super-specialty training in Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology from the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research. After my training, I remained at the institute, becoming an Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Immunology.

I cleared the SCE in Rheumatology with the Royal College of Physicians London (2014), successfully completed my MRCP in 2016, and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in December 2018.

Since 2015, I’ve worked at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences as an Assistant Professor in Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology. Within 2 years of joining the institute, I started a rheumatology super-specialty training programme at the hospital (termed Doctorate of Medicine in Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology).

My areas of special interest are in SLE, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, psoriatic arthritis and primary immunodeficiency.

I completed my MBBCh (Hons) from Cardiff University (2005), undergoing specialist training in osteoporosis, early inflammatory arthritis, biological therapies, connective tissue disease, soft tissue rheumatism, and psoriatic arthritis. Following this, I passed both my MRCP exam (2009) and MRCP Rheumatology Specialty Clinical Exam (2011).

I’m a member of the Royal College of Physicians (London), the Medical Protection Society, the British Society of Rheumatology, and the British Medical Association. I’ve received the Clinical Excellence Award (2017) for developing the osteoporosis service in Croydon, and the Cardiff & Vale University Health Board’s Teaching Excellence Award (2013).

At the Croydon Health Service NHS Trust, I am the Clinical Lead for both the Osteoporosis & Bone Health Unit and the Rheumatology Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Unit. The former has allowed me to develop a multidisciplinary integrated bone health service with colleagues from multiple medical and surgical specialities, whilst the latter has given me the opportunity to form a diagnostic and interventional service by setting up a regional network in standardising scanning practice and training.

I completed my MBBS from the PSG Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (2005), and later my MD (Internal Medicine) from Kasturba Medical College of Manipal (2009). Following my academic achievements, I went on to finish my DM Rheumatology at Madras Medical College (2014), and cleared the Rheumatology Specialty Certificate Examination (2019), the European Certification Exam for Rheumatology (2018) and the MRCP (UK) (2020). In 2016, I was the recipient of the Indo-UK Travel Fellowship, which I undertook at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, UK.

I am a Consultant Rheumatologist working at both Gleneagles Global Hospital, and at my own clinic, SHAM’s Rheumatic Care Centre. Additionally, I am currently serving as the Associate Editor of the ‘Indian Journal of Rheumatology’ and am also part of the Editorial Board for the ‘Rheumatology Advances in Practice’ journal.

StudyPRN is a useful platform for candidates preparing for the SCE exam. It helped me during my exam preparation, and so I am excited to contribute to the existing question bank and help future candidates.
