This RCGP accredited resource, composed of 4 modules - each containing 12 clinical cases, assesses the user’s knowledge of Osteoporosis.

Successful completion of each module provides 1 hour of CPD delivered by Learna Ltd.

Introduction

These 4 modules have been produced as a suite of CPD on Osteoporosis

  • The Impact of Osteoporotic Fragility Fractures
  • Primary Fracture Prevention
  • Secondary Fracture Prevention
  • Drug and lifestyle interventions to reduce Fracture Risk

Aims and Objectives:

On completion of these modules the user should:

  • have a greater understanding of the impact of Osteoporotic fractures on patients and on the health care economy;
  • have an improved knowledge of interventions to reduce Osteoporotic fractures;
  • have an improved knowledge of the risk factors for osteoporosis;
  • have an improved understanding of the risk factors for fracture;
  • have an awareness of the guidelines governing primary fracture prevention;
  • have an updated knowledge of the management of fracture prevention;
  • have an improved knowledge of secondary fracture prevention guidelines;
  • have an improved knowledge of secondary fracture prevention in practice;
  • have an improved understanding of the requirements of the Osteoporosis Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) in General Practice;
  • have an improved understanding of treatments available to reduce fracture risk;
  • have an improved knowledge of national guidance;
  • have a good understanding of dietary and lifestyle interventions to reduce fracture risk.
