Pharmacology of Botulinum Toxins | Module Overview

Aesthetic medicine is a rapidly growing specialty performed by a growing number of health professionals including doctors, dentists and nurse prescribers. Unlike other specialties, there is little CPD available to satisfy the demands of appraisal and revalidation within this specialty. This module helps cater to these CPD demands.

It is important for the practitioner to understand the pharmacology of the aesthetic product they are using, and in this CPD module, the practitioner is presented with an array of questions that assess knowledge of the pharmacology of botulinum toxins. The questions are designed to assess knowledge of key areas on mechanism of action, dosing, reconstitution and side effects of botulinum toxins.

On successful completion of the module, including completion of reflection, the user is presented with a CPD certificate for 1 hour which can be used for appraisal and revalidation.
