This RCGP accredited resource, composed of 10 clinical cases, assesses the user’s knowledge on the assessment and management of lipid disorders.

Successful completion of the resource provides 1 hour of CPD delivered by Learna Ltd.

Introduction

The advent of lipid lowering therapy has revolutionised cardiovascular outcomes in the last 20 years. Increasingly, the assessment and management of lipid disorders falls within the remit of primary care and is relevant in the context of a number of other conditions such as diabetes mellitus and hypertension. Similarly, the management of lipid disorders constitute a significant component of QOF across the various chronic conditions.

Aims and Objectives:

  • Have an improved understanding of secondary causes of hyperlipidaemia
  • Have an improved understanding of how inherited hyperlipidaemia may present and be managed
  • Have an improved understanding of the assessment and management of hyperlipidaemia for both primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease
  • Have an improved understanding of assessment of hyperlipidaemia in children and in pregnancy
