Independent Prescribing Resources

It is estimated that there are over 50,000 healthcare professionals with independent prescribing qualification in the UK and this number continues to grow. With health professionals now required to undertake revalidation, it is important that Independent Prescribers (IPs) demonstrate that they have remained up to date. There are numerous aspects to revalidation, which includes demonstrating the use of the IP qualification within the individual’s clinical practice, issues such as clinical governance but also demonstrable CPD. We have developed this bundle of materials that delivers many hours of CPD material that, upon completion, could be incorporated into an IP’s CPD log and used in appraisal and revalidation.

The CPD materials which comprise this bundle offer a variety of materials from the generalist resources of spot diagnoses, diagnostic syntheses, drug interactions and drug monitoring to the more specialist aesthetic resources. We have included the latter as, many IPs have requested resources for cosmetic procedures. Similarly, we have included resources in areas of ethics, management and evidence-based practice, some proof of which is often requested at appraisal.

Upon completion of each resource, you will be presented with a certificate awarding one hour of CPD for each resource. You can store this within your portfolio and present this at appraisal/use for revalidation.
