This module is designed to assess knowledge around the testing of patients with suspected COVID-19 including the rt-PCR, lateral flow serology and ELISA. It also explores testing utilised to try to distinguish between acute bacterial and viral infection. The module explores epidemiological terminology such as sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, negative predictive and positive predictive power as well as assessing mortality rates from epidemiological data. As explained in previous modules, this is a fast moving area and changes to guidance may alter as we know more about the disease.
Once you complete all 10 multiple choice questions - and achieve the minimum pass rate of 60% - you will be awarded with a downloadable CPD Certificate, which you can print or upload to your CPD Portfolio.
