Anaphylaxis and severe allergy can be a frightening experience for both patient and carer. This module is designed for both patients and carers to gain knowledge on the important issues in the recognition and treatment of severe allergy. On submission of your answers for each question, a detailed explanation is provided.
It has been authored by physicians with expertise in the field of acute allergy, as well as general medicine. The questions were developed to be enjoyable, but to also test your knowledge and explain important areas of anaphylaxis.
Once you complete the module - and achieve the minimum pass rate of 60% - you'll be awarded with a downloadable 1 hour CPD Certificate, which you can print or upload to your CPD Portfolio.
On completion of this module, you will have an increased understanding of:
The recognition of allergic reactions, common allergens and their management
Emergency treatment of anaphylaxis according to current guidance
Correct administration of intramuscular adrenaline and the various auto-injector devices available
Education of patients with allergy on self-management
