Introduction

A good understanding of anatomy is the cornerstone of any cosmetic procedure. In this respect, understanding facial anatomy is critically important in delivering effective and safe aesthetic treatment. Similarly, it helps to appreciate and avoid potential complications. This module is based upon 10 assessment questions built around typical clinical scenarios relating to facial anatomy. Successfully complete these 10 questions and reflect upon your answers to be awarded a certificate for 1hr of CPD, which you can include for your annual appraisal or produce for your insurance company as proof of ongoing learning in aesthetic practice.

Aims and Objectives:

These assessment questions are designed to test your knowledge of the important aspects of facial anatomy. On completion of this resource the user should have an:

  • Improved understanding of the musculature of the face important in aesthetic practice.
  • Improved understanding of the influence of facial musculature upon specific areas of wrinkling.
  • Greater awareness as to the anatomical contribution to the common complications associated with aesthetic procedures.
